Work with Veteran families performing assessment of participant function and developing and monitoring case plans in coordination with formal assessment of supportive services needed, including necessary follow-up activities. Assess and verify tenancy problems, income and financial assistance needs utilizing the tools provided by the program. Work with landlords regarding late payments, damage or lease violations to prevent evictions. Assist participants in connecting with employment services and/or obtain financial assistance from government or private sources. Work with participants to develop a housing stabilization plan with goals for successful achievement of self sufficiency. Provide information regarding additional community resources. Work collaboratively with Veteran Affairs Officers in the service area. Provide outreach about the program and services provided to community partners and other organizations.
Bachelors degree or related experience in a field related to the delivery of counseling and/or social services preferred. Six months to one year related experience.

National and Community Service AmeriCorps VISTA members are passionate and committed to their mission to bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Members make a year- long, full-time commitment to serve on specific projects at a nonprofit organization. They focus their efforts to build the organizational, administrative, and financial capacity of organizations that fight illiteracy, improve health services, foster economic development, and otherwise assist low-income communities.
AmeriCorps VISTA is open to all U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent resident aliens age 18 and older. Members receive a modest living allowance. Members who serve for a year also receive health coverage, childcare, if needed, and other benefits. After successful completion of a term of service, members can choose to receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or post-service stipend.

Start Date: November 4th 2014 and end date is November 7th, 2015.
Hours per week: 36 hours are required each week;
the majority of the work day will be from 8:00 to 4:30.

Living Allowance is provided to the VISTA Worker in the amount of $998/ month or $11,136/ year. Living allowance is directly deposited in bank account every two weeks. Health Insurance, relocation allowance, professional development training and childcare assistance is provided, if eligible.
In addition, VISTA members who successfully complete a term of service are also eligible to receive either a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $5,550 to pay for college or to pay off student loans, or an end-of-service cash stipend of $1,500.

Research and establish financial literacy case management procedures, forms and resources.
Coordinate volunteers that may provide financial literacy education.
Create a Family Services Policy and Procedure Manual
Coordinate fundraising projects in local continuums of care that promote awareness of Veteran/Civilian homelessness in northeast Nebraska.
Research and establish new funding streams for career development assistance.
Research and establish career development case management forms, procedures and resource directories.
Conduct outreach using various media channels and social media outlets for Family Services and all NENCAP programs
Build a volunteer base that would help the agency maintain its food pantries, provide outreach and assist the Family Services staff to provide follow up with clients.

Responsible to facilitate health education and case management to home visitation clients, coordination of services, program education modules, client advocacy and referral. This will include high risk women and families who are pregnant or parenting to decrease the incidence of child abuse and neglect. Initiate and maintain regular contact with families, primarily in their homes. Establish trusting relationships with families. Provide prenatal and other health education. Assist to strengthen parent-child relationships. Assist parents to improve their skills and optimize the home environment for the child’s well being and safety. Maintain relations with community agencies and organizations and provide outreach..
Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in parent education, family support, human services counseling and knowledge of infant and child development or similar. Good organization skills. Prefer experience with outreach, case management, and/or public health education. Experience in human services, home visits, or skills in early childhood development or early childhood mental health. Basic computer skills in word processing, email and internet. Bilingual skills a plus. Must meet Agency auto insurance standards.

This position is responsible for aiding in the operation of the WIC and Immunization Programs. Receive Department of Health Immunization Training and WIC State Training. Travel to assigned WIC and/or Immunization clinics. Order and monitor vaccine for both Norfolk and Pender offices. Responsible for proper storage and handling of vaccines received from HHS. Set up, screen and administer vaccine at immunization clinics as well as computer system set up and operation. Administration of adult vaccine and record keeping as needed. Certify WIC participants according to program guidelines. Complete hemoglobin checks as needed. Complete growth grid on participants. Give breastfeeding information and support new moms. Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
Registered Nurse credentials from an accredited school. Nebraska RN License in good standing. Six months to one year related experience. Basic computer skills in word processing, email and internet. Must be able to comply with the Agency’s auto insurance standards.
