The Part Time Center Aide assists the Teacher in planning and carrying out the educational activities of the center. Record observations of children. Facilitate a small group of children in educational activities. Eat breakfast, lunch and/or snack with the children to encourage good eating habits and positive mealtime experiences. Perform cleaning duties as required by the center. Participate in weekly team meetings. Maintain confidentiality for children, families, program and agency. Possess basic computer skills. Frequently kneeling, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. English/Spanish bilingual skills a plus. Bilingual staff must be able to appropriately translate and interpret verbal and written communication. Adhere to Head Start Performance Standards, Written Plan, Nebraska Licensure of Child Care Centers, Education Training Manual, Parent Handbook, NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct, Rule 11, CACFP and NENCAP Personnel Policies.
High school Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and one of the following:
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential,
• Enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed with 2 years,
• Associate or Baccalaureate degree in any field or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree.
Other: Wage is $8.10 to $9.27 per hour depending on bilingual skills.
