HOME VISITOR    --- Posted: 08/25/2014

Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership’s Health Services Program is looking for a HOME VISITOR. The work location is Pender, NE. The position is 40 hours per week with variable hours to meet the needs of clients. Responsible to facilitate health education and case management to home visitation clients, coordination of services, program education modules, client advocacy and referral. This will include high risk women and families who are pregnant or parenting to decrease the incidence of child abuse and neglect. Initiate and maintain regular contact with families, primarily in their homes. Establish trusting relationships with families. Provide prenatal and other health education. Assist to strengthen parent-child relationships. Assist parents to improve their skills and optimize the home environment for the child’s well being and safety. Maintain relations with community agencies and organizations and provide outreach.

Qualifications: Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in parent education, family support, human services counseling and knowledge of infant and child development or similar. Good organization skills. Experience in human services, home visits, or skills in early childhood development or early childhood mental health. Basic computer skills in word processing, email and internet.

Other: Hourly wage is $13.50 per hour. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance. Paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, EAP, 401K Retirement.

PART TIME CENTER AIDE for the Norfolk Head Start Center   --- Posted: 08/25/2014

Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership’s HEAD START EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM is looking for a PART TIME CENTER AIDE for the Norfolk Head Start Center. 20 hours per week with seasonal layoff. Work hours are M-Th 11:30 to 4:30 with additional training hours on Friday as needed. Hourly wage. Bilingual skills a plus. The Part Time Center Aide assists the Teacher in planning and carrying out the educational activities of the center. Record observations of children. Facilitate a small group of children in educational activities. Eat breakfast, lunch and/or snack with the children to encourage good eating habits and positive mealtime experiences. Perform cleaning duties as required by the center. Participate in weekly team meetings. Maintain confidentiality for children, families, program and agency. Frequent kneeling, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. Bilingual staff must be able to appropriately translate and interpret verbal and written communication. Adhere to Head Start Performance Standards, Written Plan, Nebraska Licensure of Child Care Centers, Education Training Manual, Parent Handbook, NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct, Rule 11, CACFP and NENCAP Personnel Policies.

Qualifications: EDUCATION: High school Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and one of the following: • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, • Enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed with 2 years, • Associate or Baccalaureate degree in any field or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree.

Other: Wage is $8.10 to $9.27 per hour depending on bilingual skills.
